Aquarian Exchange is an online website, that connects you with like-minded people, anywhere within the Republic of Ireland and all parts of the United Kingdom, who are willing to offer their services in exchange for yours. It is essentially what is known as a Time Bank (a modern and enhanced version of the ancient practice of bartering) the principles of which are very simple:

• Instead of the usual practice of paying for a service with money, within this system the currency is time, the basic unit of which, referred to as a Time Credit, equals one hour of service.
• All services are of equal value, and an hour of one person’s time is exactly equal to that of anyone else’s.
• Each member, who must be at least 18 years of age, is both a giver and a receiver. Each time you give a service you earn a Time Credit which you can then bank and subsequently spend by receiving a service from any other member.
• The time spent in providing a service is obviously flexible as is the number of Time Credits that can be earned in any one session.
• While non-members are able to browse through any of the Sections for information, they must first register as Members before being able to Log In and have access to the Members’ Directory, Categories of Services, etc.
• Before attempting to register however, which should be a straightforward process, it would still be helpful to read the various points in the ‘Help’ section, where additional information regarding all the main sections is supplied.
• The website is also designed to accept Registered Charities as members, details of which may be found under other Headings
